About Me

Our painful experiences aren’t a liability- they are a gift. They give us perspective and meaning, an opportunity to find our unique purpose and our strength - Edith Eger

Dr Ronel Duif

My journey to help and serve others was inspired by my environment growing up. At a very young age, I learnt the value of faith, hope and love and how those elements carry people through difficult challenges.

Not having any doubts in my mind as to what will give meaning to my life, I completed a BA (Psychology) at the North West University, an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Johannesburg. My thesis being: “a Metatheory for marital therapy”.

I have completed a D.Ed with the dissertation title being: “Psychotherapeutic skills training to improve self-concept.”.

I started working at a group practice in 1992 and have since been in private practice for the past 30 years plus.

I am practicing on the West Rand (Featherbrooke Estate) in a lovely, relaxing, and peaceful environment.

I aim to provide a warm, supportive space, free from judgement to enable self-discovery, self-awareness, personal growth, and healing.

Taking the biopsychosocial perspective of health as basis, I examine the reciprocal influences of biology, psychology, behavioral and social factors in relation to the client’s mental health specifically. My approach to therapy is person-centered and I follow a holistic and integrative approach, tailor making the therapeutic process.

The words of Edith Eger in The Choice accurately summarizes my view on the value of a therapeutic relationship.

“Our painful experiences aren’t a liability- they are a gift. They give us perspective and meaning, an opportunity to find our unique purpose and our strength.”
